AlmaLinux
AlmaLinux is a community enterprise distribution run by the AlmaLinux OS Foundation, built to be compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). It follows RHEL's ten-year lifecycle: about five years of active support with regular minor releases, then about five years of maintenance with security and critical bug fixes only.

How security updates work on AlmaLinux
AlmaLinux tracks Red Hat's security fixes for RHEL and publishes its own AlmaLinux Security Advisories (ALSA) in the AlmaLinux errata. Since AlmaLinux aims for compatibility with RHEL rather than identical builds, it can, and sometimes does, ship a fix before Red Hat does.
How OS Checker tracks AlmaLinux
OS Checker compares each machine's installed packages against the official repositories and uses AlmaLinux's own security advisories, so an update is flagged as a security update exactly when AlmaLinux says it is.
