Fedora
Fedora is a community distribution sponsored by Red Hat, and the upstream that RHEL is eventually built from. A new release comes out about every six months, and each one is supported until four weeks after the release two versions later - about thirteen months in total. There is no maintenance phase: a release gets full updates until its end of life.

How security updates work on Fedora
Fedora has no separate security team publishing advisories. Instead, package maintainers push fixes through Bodhi, Fedora's update system, and mark them as security updates with a severity.
How OS Checker tracks Fedora
OS Checker compares each machine's installed packages against Fedora's official repositories and uses Bodhi's security data to flag the updates that fix known vulnerabilities.
