Upgrade hooks
Your scheduled checkin already keeps a machine updated - by default once an hour. These hooks trigger an extra checkin right after your package manager finishes an upgrade, so packages you just touched show up right away instead of within the hour. A newly disclosed CVE against a package you haven't touched is still caught by the scheduled checkin, not by these hooks.
They're optional - plain package-manager hooks you add yourself, not something oschecker installs or manages. Each one runs oschecker checkin in the background, so a slow or failed network call can never hold up your package manager.
/etc/apt/apt.conf.d/99post-upgrades-hook
DPkg::Post-Invoke {"command -v oschecker >/dev/null 2>&1 && (oschecker checkin >/dev/null 2>&1 &)";};
/etc/pacman.d/hooks/oschecker-checkin.hook

Target = *
[Action]
When = PostTransaction
Exec = /bin/sh -c 'command -v oschecker >/dev/null 2>&1 && (oschecker checkin >/dev/null 2>&1 &)'
Requires dnf-plugins-core:
sudo dnf install dnf-plugins-core
/etc/dnf/plugins/post-transaction-actions.d/oschecker.action
*:any:/bin/sh -c 'command -v oschecker >/dev/null 2>&1 && (oschecker checkin >/dev/null 2>&1 &)'
These files aren't touched by oschecker update or uninstall - remove them by hand if you no longer want the extra checkin.
